Creating a New Organization

To create a new organization, log in to your Blackmagic Cloud account and click the ‘organization’ icon in the Blackmagic Cloud dashboard.

If you are not a current member of an organization, the ’add organization’ window will open straight away. If you are already a member of an organization, the main organization page will open. Click the ‘add organization’ button.

Organization Settings

After creating an organization, you might want to customize some settings. The ‘organization settings’ include options to add your own logo, set a brand background color, plus change the organization’s name.

To change your organization’s settings:

Click the ‘settings’ icon in the Blackmagic Cloud dashboard.
In the ‘settings’ page, click ‘organization settings’ in the sidebar.
In the ‘organization settings’ page, upload a custom logo, change the organization name or add a brand color by clicking the pencil icon. If you are adding a custom icon, we recommend a minimum size of 480 x 480px at a 1:1 aspect ratio.

Adding Members to an Organization

Adding members to your organization makes it easy to manage access to projects, storage and DaVinci Resolve rental licenses. All you need to invite someone to your organization is their email address. If they don’t already have a Blackmagic Cloud account, they will be prompted to create one when they receive your invitation.

To add a member to an organization:

Sign in to the organization that you want to add members to. Click the ‘settings’ icon in the Blackmagic Cloud Dashboard.

Accepting an Invite to a Blackmagic Cloud Organization

When you send someone an invitation to a Blackmagic Cloud organization, they will receive an email notification. If they are already a Blackmagic Cloud user, a notification will also be displayed the next time they access their Blackmagic Cloud account.

If you have been invited to a Blackmagic Cloud organization and already have a Blackmagic Cloud account, you will receive a notification when you log in. If you are currently logged in, the invitation will appear when you go to the ‘select profile’ page.

Organization Management

Blackmagic Cloud organizations give you the flexibility to remove members, change the role of a member, plus leave an organization you have been added to. You will need to be an organization ‘owner’ if you want to remove a member or change their role.

To remove a member:

Log in to the organization that you want to remove the member from and click the ‘settings’ icon in the Blackmagic Cloud dashboard. Alternatively, you can click the ‘organizations’ icon in the Blackmagic Cloud dashboard, click the 3 dot menu for the organization that you want to remove the member from and select ‘manage organization’. If you are not logged in to the organization, you will be prompted to automatically switch profile.

Groups

Groups

In a Blackmagic Cloud organization, a ‘group’ is a collection of users all under one name. Creating groups of users makes managing and sharing easier and faster. For example, if you have four editors working on the same project you could add them all to an ‘editors’ group. Then instead of sharing a Blackmagic Cloud project library with each editor individually, all you have to do is share the project library with the ‘editors’ group to give them all access.

Deleting an Organization

Deleting an Organization

Only organization owners can delete an organization. It’s worth noting that deleting an organization will permanently delete both the organization and all of its associated data. Once an organization has been scheduled for deletion, you have up to 5 days to cancel the process.

To delete an organization:

From the ‘organizations’ page, click the three dot menu next to the organization that you want to delete and click ‘delete organization’ to open the ‘delete organization’ window. Alternatively, if you are logged in to the organization that you want to delete, go to the ‘settings’ page, open ‘organization settings’ and click the ‘delete organization’ button.
