What’s Included with a Free Plan?

Creating a Blackmagic Cloud account automatically starts you on a free plan. This will provide you with everything you need to get started with Blackmagic Cloud and explore the different Apps and features.

If you decide that you want to add additional services to your account such as more storage space, Cloud Project Libraries or DaVinci Resolve rental licenses you can simply add and pay for what you need.

Blackmagic Cloud Homepage Overview

When you log in to your Blackmagic Cloud account, you’ll be taken to the Blackmagic Cloud homepage.

The homepage gives you quick access to all the Blackmagic Cloud Apps, plus your account settings. Simply click an icon to open an App. You’ll notice that the Blackmagic Cloud Apps dashboard is always displayed at the top of each App page, so you don’t need to return to the homepage to switch between Apps.

Personal and Organization Account Profiles

There are two types of profile available in your Blackmagic Cloud account. Your ‘Personal’ profile is the default profile and set up automatically when you first create a Blackmagic Cloud account. If you have created, or have been added to, a Blackmagic Cloud Organization you will also have access to an ‘Organization’ account profile.

Your ‘Personal’ profile is ideal for smaller workflows or solo projects. Blackmagic Cloud Organizations offer additional options for collaborative workflows and are the best way to manage resources such as cloud storage, project servers and DaVinci Resolve licenses. For more information on setting up and managing Blackmagic Cloud Organizations, refer to the ‘Organizations’ section of this guide.

Accessing Blackmagic Cloud from DaVinci Resolve

You can sign in to Blackmagic Cloud directly from DaVinci Resolve. Once signed in, you’ll be able to access Blackmagic Cloud Project Libraries and sync project media from Cloud Storage to your DaVinci Resolve project. Blackmagic Cloud is available in both the free and Studio versions of DaVinci Resolve.

To sign in to Blackmagic Cloud from DaVinci Resolve:

Open DaVinci Resolve. In the ‘project manager’ window, click the ‘cloud’ icon in the top left panel.
In the Blackmagic Cloud login window, enter your Blackmagic Cloud email and password and click ‘log in’. If you have two factor authentication enabled on your Blackmagic Cloud account, you’ll be prompted to enter the one time code from your authenticator App.
If you are a member of a Blackmagic Cloud Organization, you’ll be able to choose to log in to your personal profile or an organization profile. Select an account profile and click ‘continue’.

In the DaVinci Resolve project window, a list of Cloud project libraries will be displayed in the left hand side bar. Click on a project library to select it, the projects will be displayed in the right hand panel.
